We believe the top three ways to protect your business premises are using CCTV, 24 Hour Monitored Alarms and Access Control.
Let’s look at all three of these things in greater detail.
24 Hour Monitored Alarms
A monitored Security Alarm is the first line of defence and the number one way that you can protect your business, as soon as someone enters the building the alarm will notify someone away from the building that there is a problem.
No one wants to hear the sound of an alarm going off, even more so when it is at your business premises! Worse than the alarm actually going off, is if no one responds to it. Knowing that it simply causes a bit of noise is not going to offer your business the full protection that it needs. You need to add that extra level of protection by having your alarm monitored.
24-hour alarm monitoring is a great way to ensure your premises are looked after without you needing to constantly check on them. You can enjoy your time away from the business, without worry or stress. Rest easy in the knowledge that should a problem arise, then Smartway can be there to check it out for you.
Monitored alarms are a major deterrent for people who are up to no good. They know that if the alarm sounds, then someone is on their way to check what is happening. Coupled with CCTV cameras, you will have complete protection and visibility of your premises when you can’t be there.
It is important to note that with everyone now changing their phone lines to Fibre, your alarm connection may need to be modified. Smartway have plenty of experience and can offer a number of ways to achieve this conversion to keep you protected. Call us today for your conversion.
CCTV
CCTV is the next level of protection to protect your business, as the simple presence of cameras can deter thieves or vandals who fear they might get caught on tape!
Many people will know CCTV as a camera set up to catch burglars in the act. But it is actually so much more than that. CCTV stands for Closed Circuit Television and involves the use of unmanned cameras that record and transmit live footage back to a screen where it can be monitored and recorded.
In the movies we see security guards sitting in front of a wall of screens, watching the different areas of important buildings. But, you can actually get the feed directly to your smartphone or device, to check on your premises at any time of the day or night, even when you aren’t there – from anywhere in the world.
CCTV is not just for protecting retail and office premises. We have installed CCTV cameras in many unique places to perform a specific and vital job.
We installed a number of cameras to the 14.4m diameter Tunnel Boring Machine that was instrumental in creating the tunnel that linked the Western Ring Road. Then, at the other end of the spectrum, we installed a network of cameras, wireless links and Wi-Fi Access Points at Waikato Stud in Matamata so that they could be more proactive in caring for their horses and mares when they were in foal.
CCTV does not have to be limited to a camera monitoring a shop floor, we can service any unique requirements for your home, business, or farm here at Smartway!
Access Control
The final way that you can protect your business premises is with access control. That means you can limit or restrict the access to certain areas of your business by requiring authorisation or permission to enter through an access controlled door.
You know those doors in hospitals, office buildings, and retail warehouses where you need a swipe card or a token to open them? That is an access controlled door. A security system is fitted to the door and is designed to keep out the people that you don’t want to enter. For that reason, it is more secure than a standard door and almost impossible to enter if you have not been granted access.
Not only does it deter potential thieves, but it also helps to keep sensitive information safe, and protects those within – in the case of a medical facility.
Access control doors can be installed on any premises with a huge range of solutions for any security need. Most access control doors will need to be serviced in a regular basis, which we cover for you here at Smartway. They also need to be signed off on a 12A for the Building Warrant of Fitness and Smartway have a Licensed IQP (Independently Qualified Person) that can do that for you.
Company Director Roger Bull, has passed the training as an IQP (Independently Qualified Person) and obtained registration with the authorities, so they can complete the formalities to assist in obtaining the annual Building WoF. Roger has over 24 years’ experience with Security both in New Zealand and overseas in the UK so he is the ideal person to assist with this essential annual event.
