Fergus’ Background

Fergus is an Aucklander who graduated from Auckland University with a degree majoring in business. He began working at Cleaver Partners after completing his studies and spent ten years developing his knowledge and expertise whilst working his way up the career ladder before being appointed a partner in 2013.

Outside of work, Fergus has a wide range of community interests including arts and culture, child and animal welfare, social justice and sustainable development. He’s passionate about furthering these interests and provides advocacy services for a number of charities and not-for-profit organisations in the Auckland area.

Fergus has broad experience across all areas of accountancy and a particular interest in management consulting and succession planning. His client list is wide and varied including transportation and logistics, tourism and hospitality, professional services, freight, the trades, marketing and advertising, legal services, and much more.

Fergus sees his role as being that of a trusted partner and guide. ‘I like to really get to know our clients, their business and their industry,’ says Fergus. ‘I’m not that stuffy, old-fashioned type of accountant.
