As I write there are “five” possible work weeks left before the working year ends. That’s at best, 25 working days. With that in mind, the question is,
“what should we be focused on??”
I am aware that for an Adviser the answer is obvious, finishing the year with as many new clients having the covers they need before they break to spend time with their loved ones at Christmas.
Right now there will be many demands on your time, and one way of coping is “chunking”.
Download all of the ideas, goals and things you feel you need to get done before Christmas down on a piece of paper. This is “capturing”, keeping everything locked up in your mind adds to stress.
Look for commonalities, items that are related. “Chunk” those on your capture list.
Now that you have chunked those items it could be easier to see what the ultimate outcome you want is. This can lead to having an inspired purpose.
After that, “blast focus” on those items you want to get done.
Another idea is to stay away from areas where you will get distracted. Those of you who have done or are doing Level 5 will know this one. Often if someone interrupts you for up to 2 minutes while you are focused on a task, it can take up to 20 minutes to get your focus back on what you were doing after they have finished distracting you. So try to find a quiet space to work.
If there is anything the team here at Newpark or I can do to help before Christmas call me, (Darryl 021 403 214). If we don’t get time to meet prior to Christmas, I would like to pass on our best wishes to you and your loved ones.
In addition, I wish you a pipeline of good business that gets wonderfully accepted through the holiday period.
